Where ever you have kids, work on construction or use your car on a daily basis, cars may get dirty. Clean car is not only a sign of a social status, but also a pleasure of driving. Today I will teach you how how to invest one time, and keep your car (or cars) clean forever. This will potentially save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Let’s brake it down.
Interior Essentials
All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate $60
Ones you walk in Canadian Tire car care isle, you may get overwhelmed with the broad choice of cleaners. Spray (or wipes) for plastic, leather, rubber, upholstery, vinyl, metal, bug removers and many more. You might be surprised, but they are actually all same product with small tweaks in different packaging. All you actually need is All Purpose Cleaner concentrate that can and will deal with all types of surfaces without damaging them like other types of soap might. And the best part? It’s cost. For CAD $60 you get 3.8 liters of concentrate that you dilute 1:10, eventually having 38 liters of cleaning solution. Compared to CAD 17$ for 472ml bottle in Canadian Tire, it’s only CAD $0.74 per 472ml.
DeWalt Portable Vacuum $210
This vacuum was made specifically to vacuum cars. It has two attachments, a thin attachment that can get between car seats and wide attachment. It is strong enough to lift any particles and portable enough to put in a trunk. interchangeable DeWalt battery design, power chord, flexible hose, all this makes it perfect combination for a car vacuum that saves money, time and power.
Microfiber Towels $22
Every car should have at least one microfiber towel. They are a perfect tool to remove dust, absorb liquids and destroy even the toughest stains. By buying in bulk one towel can cost anywhere from 30 cents to 50 cents, and by washing after several uses, they can last for decades. Every time you spill something or get dirt on the interior, spray it with all purpose cleaner and wipe it with a microfiber towel. Dirt stand no chance. PRO TIP: If you get on the car’s sealing, spray the towel first and then rub it onto the surface.
Exterior Essentials
Microfiber Car Wash Mitts $14
Just like microfiber towels we discussed earlier, these are the same monsters, just for exterior wash. Not a single sponge or towel will get you the same dirt lifting result as a microfiber mitt. Trust me. Wash them after each use and they will last longer then the car itself.
2 Wash Buckets – $10
One of the simplest but most important tools for keeping your car clean is a pair of buckets. The two-bucket method (one with soapy water, the other with clean rinse water) prevents dirt and grit from scratching your paint while washing. You don’t need anything fancy—regular $5 buckets from Home Depot or any hardware store will do the job perfectly.
Meguiar’s Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner 13$
When it comes to car soap, not all products are created equal. Cheap dish soaps strip wax and dry out rubber trims, leaving your paint unprotected. Meguiar’s Gold Class is gentle on your finish, adds slickness to reduce swirl marks, and even leaves behind a bit of shine. For just $13, it’s a trusted classic that makes every wash safer and more effective.
This is all you really need to keep your car clean for decades. But if you’d rather save time, spend less on products, and still keep your car in tip-top shape, you can always call our mobile detailing services — we’ll bring professional care right to your driveway.
